During the weeks leading up to the Leigh Leopards launch, our teams were busy preparing and building the stages ready for the night’s events. With both performances being so different, we knew we had to take into account where the acts were performing and when to see how that impacted the construction of the stages.
Our podium stages were used on the pitch by The Fuel Girls, a large one in the centre with 6 smaller ones in the surrounding area. Our teams were able to build these in-house at our factory in Worsley, with the central stage being disassembled then reassembled on site. Due to the nature of the performances and the strict time schedule on the night, our teams had numerous test-runs to assemble and take down the stage against the clock, to make sure that everything ran smoothly on the night. If you were at the game, you will know that our teams, along with the help from the Leigh Leopards Ladies and some of the past players for the Leigh Centurions, successfully removed the stages from the pitch in record time, ready for the 8 o’clock kick off!
The stage for Scouting for Girls’ performance on the other hand, was an integrated stage built in to one of the stands of the stadium. This stage was built with our signature steel subframe, and grey deck boards, with an adaptation of our platform step used for the drum kit, using our almond boards and grey skirt; the stage was securely closed off with our curtain-wall glass balustrades, to provide a safe enclosed area for the band to perform, while also enabling the audience to see the performance from their seats. Unlike the on-ground stages, this stage was built prior to the event by our installation teams on-site, with the help from our Installations Manager and Managing Director who were both very hands-on with the work!
AB Sundecks Stage Hire is now available for any outdoor and indoor event; please contact us for more information!
