Every year the Lawns throws at us a series of different challenges; wether it be units not sited or last minute changes or even the crazy British weather, but this year, as ever, we have completed our mission and produced a show ground as beautiful and as dynamic as ever.
Our cocktail bar and F1 experience has become a bit of standing feature at the show which all of our clients, old and new, have come to look forward to during the week long event, and so we express our talent and flair elsewhere around the show ground.
This year we have seen some fantastic new holiday homes come to market with innovation in design, style and colour, really lending itself to the vast array of diverse trends emerging all over the world. The modern man is very brave and forward thinking and so it is exciting to see that an industry once considered uniform in style now not afraid of breaking the mould and trying something new, bold and inspiring. The times are changing right now in the leisure homes industry and it is fantastic to watch.
With all the this in mind AB Sundecks, once again, stepped up to the mantle and provided exceptional quality balconies to help showcase the new generation holiday homes for 2015.
When build up begins on a vast, empty space of green the process seems thankless and uninspiring. A workforce so used to spending their days on beautiful landscaped holiday parks and gardens are faced with a seemingly impossible task.
This year the weather was kind but the ground not so. When the first units arrived they sank into the ground, tore up the landscape and were impossible to site. Three days out of 14 were knocked off our already tight schedule. It wasn’t until around day 8 or 9 when the show ground entered into an illuminating transformation. It was at this point that the team realised that all their hard work was paying off and the end goal was in sight.
The self gratification from completing such an intense and exhausting schedule is immense and when the finishing touches are implemented on the eve of the grand opening the show ground is a peaceful and serene oasis of calm. It is quite humbling.
Then the hoards of visitors from all over the world descend on Cottingham and in minutes the whole place is a hive of activity for days on end.
It is fabulous to be a part of and such a great opportunity for us to showcase our extensive product range and quality workmanship. Our designs, this year, were crafted to ensure that each holiday home was well represented and, where necessary, stood out from the crowd.
On our own display the sales team where active in running through the 3D deck designer. Our amazing new order management system will revolutionise the decking world giving customers the freedom to generate quotes with a few simple clicks and manage their orders right through to completion and beyond. This system has been painstaking in the design and build but with a few more adjustments will soon be ready to launch on the market.
Time flies in show business and before we know it the last person leaves and the barrier comes down on another successful Lawns.
What took fourteen days to build takes three to dismantle and ship 282 miles to Beaulieu for take two. It is always a sad day when the last lorry leaves the show ground and the few sods of grass are put back in their rightful place as we call it day and move on to the next challenge ahead
